From one journalist to another: congratulations for your homepage.

Please, if you have any influence on the subject, try to stop
the bombing and destruction of electronic and any other media. We`ve heard and seen through global networks that there was an intention to bomb State network center (RTS).
We don`t want it to happen to anybody and we understand it better than most people because ten days ago we had 3 independent FM stations closed down.
In the night between 2nd and 3rd of April we had our three
independent FM radio stations banned , closed and vital parts of
broadcasting equipment taken away by the authoroties (as had already happenned to our VK Radio in 1997 and to our Senta Radio in 1998). Alltogether its 5 close-downs for our Jet Company (actually its media branch Info Jet) which runs those 3 FM stations.
30 young people who worked hard for development of independent media and democracy lost their jobs.

Dear Mr.Sosnov,
I am writing from Australia. Igraduated from a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Business Information System but my dream is to be a tv news reporter. It seems that I am in the wrong course to pursue a career in journalism but I am determined to get there. Do you have any advice for me?
From, Rachel |
I'm a portuguese anthropologist, vice-president of the Associacao
Portuguesa de Antropologia and president of the board of the Associacao
Portuguesa de Arqueologia Industrial. I'm preparing a research on Company -
sometimes called Factory, or even Enterprise - Museums, and I'm particulary
interested in those museums many large companies use(d?) to have in
socialist countries.
It seems to me that the development and role of Company Museums in those
countries and times is a phenomenon that should definitely be considered
seriously in a research, now that many factory museums established in the
'old era' have been closed or transformed.
There are two main kinds of Company Museums:
- the Western, or capitalist, type:enterprises sometimes set up such
museums as "public relations, marketing and/or personal relations vehicle,
focused on the history and/or development of the product in which they
specialize" (definition of Corporate Museums by Prof. Victor J. Danilov);
- the 'Trudovoi Slavy' type: serving a Party ideological and/or didactic
purpose, as well as a "public relations" purpose of promoting the best
interests of a particular factory - and also, of course, to increase the
corporate pride.
Do you know (knew?) any of these museums, exhibitions, «rooms of
tradition», «red corners», ...? If you have informations, personal
memories, references, contacts, impressions,... - before or after 1991 -,
please, (E)mail it all to me.
Even if you don't have any information or reference on this subject,
please, forward this message to someone who knows any of such museums. I'll
be very grateful - my research will only be possible with your information.
Hope to hear from you soon.

I was looking through a search of prople with the same name as I and I wanted to say hi. I live in Philadelphia and will be a freshman at Columbia University in New York in the fall. My great grandfather came freom Russia and our original name was Sosnovsky, but he changed when he came to america.
In high school, I was editor in chief of my high school magazine and many of my family members write. I guess that it might be genetic.
Have fun

Greetings Mr. Sosnov,
I was directed to your web site from the alt.journalism newsgroup, and enjoy it very much. I've "bookmarked" it as one of my favorites. I read a very interesting article about St. Petersburg in an American magazine, "Wired," but now I can't find my copy of the magazine! Saint Petersburg sounds like a wonderful, vibrant part of the "new" Russia. Keep up the great work. |
Dear Sirs!
I am Czech student of Russian and related sciencies. I'd like to help to youth of your country to visit our country and to meet each other. Tell my address to your friends or spread it in some traveling-oriented press. Thankyou!

Keep up the good work in St Petersburg. I'm trying to do the same in Borneo. We write a lot on the environmental damage here too. A new focus is information technology. Have a nice day |
